Common Angle Unit Definitions

Degrees (°): A common unit where a full circle is divided into 360 degrees. Used widely in geometry, navigation, and everyday measurements.

Radians (rad): The standard unit of angular measure in mathematics and physics. One radian is the angle subtended at the center of a circle by an arc that is equal in length to the radius. A full circle is 2π radians.

Gradians (grad or gon): A unit where a full circle is divided into 400 gradians. Often used in surveying.

Milliradians (mrad): Equal to 1/1000th of a radian. Commonly used in military optics and ballistics for angular measurements and ranging.

Revolutions (rev or turns): Represents one full rotation or cycle. Equivalent to 360 degrees or 2π radians.

Arcminute ('): Equal to 1/60th of a degree. Used in fields requiring high precision, like astronomy and navigation.

Arcsecond ("): Equal to 1/60th of an arcminute, or 1/3600th of a degree. Used for extremely precise angular measurements.
